Maldives & Sri Lanka

Dive into Adventure Together – 7 Nights in Maldives + 7 Nights in Sri Lanka!

Blue Mystic Divers · Indian Ocean · 27 Feb – 6 Mar 2027

The Maldives, chartered just for us.

Drop into a channel with the current running and watch the water fill with mantas — a dozen, then more — wheeling through a cloud of plankton while you hang still and let them come. At night they come to you, feeding in the boat’s lights while you lean over the rail with a coffee.

Seven nights aboard M/Y Honors Legacy — the entire vessel, all ten cabins, taken for one group. Up to 17 dives across North Malé, Vaavu and South & North Ari. Hosted the whole way.

The voyage

Not a booking. A week with your own crew.

Most Maldives liveaboards sell you a bunk on a boat full of strangers. We have taken the whole vessel — all ten cabins, all twenty places — so the only people aboard are ours.

That changes the diving. The schedule bends to what the group wants, not to the lowest common denominator of twenty-two strangers. If the mantas are working a cleaning station, we stay. If people want a fourth dive, we do a fourth dive.

And there’s a night at Alimatha, in Vaavu, that the crew set up when the tide is right — dozens of tawny nurse sharks coming in over the sand in the torchlight, close enough that the group spends the crossing home arguing about how close. We won’t spoil it further.

Creatures You Might Meet

Reef mantas

And there’s a night at Alimatha, in Vaavu, that the crew set up when the tide is right — dozens of tawny nurse sharks coming in over the sand in the torchlight, close enough that the group spends the crossing home arguing about how close. We won’t spoil it further.

Whale sharks

South Ari is the one atoll in the Maldives where whale sharks are resident year-round. Encounters are gentle and unhurried — the largest fish in the sea drifting past at walking pace. Having our own boat for the week means several attempts at it rather than one day-trip lottery ticket.

Tawny nurse sharks

Alimatha, in Vaavu Atoll, after dark. Dozens of tawny nurse sharks come in over the sand in the torchlight, along with rays and jacks working the same light. It is the dive people describe years later, usually with their hands.

Leopard sharks

Also called zebra sharks — spotted, slow and entirely unbothered, resting on the sand at the bottom of the reef. One of the calmest close encounters in the Indian Ocean, and a photographer’s gift.

Rays, after dark

Stingrays cruise the sand flats at night, gliding into the torch beams alongside the nurse sharks. Eagle rays turn up on the channel dives by day, usually in the blue just past the corner.

What you will dive

Five that make the week

🌊

Mantas at Rangali

A cleaning station where they queue up over the coral.

You stay low, stay still, and they file past at arm’s length — the encounter everyone flies here for.

🐋

Whale sharks in South Ari

The one atoll where they are resident year-round.

Not a lottery ticket on a single day trip — we have the whole atoll and several attempts at it.

🔦

Nurse sharks at Alimatha

A night dive in Vaavu Atoll, run when the tide is right.

The dive that turns a good trip into the one people still talk about years later.

🦈

Grey reefs at Fish Head

Sharks stacked into the current at a classic Ari channel

You hook into the blue and watch the wall of them hold station — pure Maldives channel diving.

🧭

Rasdhoo Madivaru

The corner, early, with the current running.

Being on our own boat means we can be there at the right hour instead of the convenient one.

Worth deciding early

Why this one doesn’t wait

01

Twenty places, and that’s the number

This is a private full charter of one specific vessel on one specific week. There is no second boat and no waiting list that turns into a place. When the twenty are taken, the trip is closed.

02

The price rises on 1 October

USD 2,990 per diver until 30 September 2026, then USD 3,190. Not a manufactured countdown — the charter is already committed and the early rate reflects booking before the balance falls due.

03

The season is fixed by the animals

Manta and whale-shark activity peaks in a narrow window when the monsoon and currents align. February and March are the best months of the year here — which is exactly why these are the weeks that go first.

From flights to flights

How the week unfolds

At sea — 27 February to 6 March

26 Feb

Arrive in Malé and take a hotel night. Nobody wants their first dive after a red-eye. We advise on routing and where to stay.

27 Feb

Transfer to the boat, board late morning, settle into your cabin. Check dive, briefings, kit set up on the dhoni for the week. Group dinner aboard.

28 Feb – 1 Mar

North Malé and across to Vaavu — channel drifts and thilas, then Alimatha after dark for the nurse sharks.

2–4 Mar

South and North Ari — whale-shark searching along the outer reef, manta cleaning stations at Rangali, grey reefs at Fish Head. A sandbank stop when the crew find the right one.

5 Mar

Rasdhoo Madivaru early with the current running, then last dives and the long, slow afternoon back toward Malé. Logbooks, photos and the last dinner aboard.

6 Mar

Disembark after breakfast. Airport transfer for your flight home — or stay on for Sri Lanka.

Optional — Sri Lanka, 6–13 March

In development

A land week east of the atolls: the Cultural Triangle and Sigiriya at dawn, the tea-country highlands, and the colonial port of Galle — the sort of week that turns a dive trip into a journey.

M/Y Honors Legacy — ten cabins across two decks. Cabin allocation is done by the group, not by a booking engine.

The route — “Best of Maldives.”

Board in Malé, run north then south through Vaavu and the Ari atolls, and come back to Malé seven nights later. Up to 17 dives including night dives. Exact sites are set by the captain each day against tide, current and where the animals actually are — which is the whole point of having the boat to ourselves.

Day-by-day order is indicative. The route is fixed; the sequence follows the conditions.

Your home at sea

M/Y Honors Legacy

Ten en-suite cabins across two decks, air conditioning throughout, a full dive deck with its own dedicated dhoni, a salon that seats the whole group together, and a shaded sun deck with a jacuzzi for the hours between dives. Twenty berths — and every one of them is ours.

Nothing to plan and nothing to pay for between dives — you surface, eat well, and sleep.

You book your own to Malé once your place is confirmed. We’ll tell you which routings work.

Cancellation, plainly. The deposit is non-refundable. After the balance is paid: more than 60 days out we refund 30% of the trip price; inside 60 days, no refund. Please take travel insurance. If we cancel the trip, everything you have paid us comes back in full, deposit included. If it’s prevented by something outside our control — the vessel operator, weather, force majeure — the standard terms apply and we pass on whatever we recover. Two things we add quietly

📖

The Maldives briefing pack

A considered pre-trip guide — what to bring, how to read the channels and currents, what the dives ask of you, and how the atolls work. Yours from the moment you reserve.

🎁

USD 250 back for a referral

Bring someone who books, and USD 250 comes off your balance. No cap, no form, no scheme — just the way a trip like this actually fills.

Bringing a group?

If you’re a dive professional, a club organiser, a shop owner or a retreat leader with people who’d love this week, we’d rather host your group than sell you a commission. One complimentary berth for every six paying guests you bring — you travel free, your people get the same price everyone else pays, and we handle every part of the operation.

No cash commission and no fine print. Tell us below and we’ll send the partner terms sheet — one page, plain language.

Why you can trust this voyage

The charter is signed and the deposit is paid. This week exists whether or not you come — we’d just rather you did.

M/Y Honors Legacy is operated by Honors Holidays, an established Maldivian liveaboard operator, chosen on safety record and atoll knowledge. The week is chartered, hosted and delivered by Blue Mystic Divers, Cozumel — trading through Arvi Tours SA de CV, a licensed Mexican travel agency — and hosted personally by Nicolas Simon, owner of Blue Mystic Divers. Built for the dive community we belong to, rather than resting on any one name.
