Apart from what’s presented on the graph bellow, most of the marine life is present year-round in Cozumel.
Check out our the timetable below to help you decide when you’d prefer come to visit us.
Where is Marina Cozumel Fonatur located?
Marina Fonatur is located south of Cozumel Center/Ferry terminal, beside Puerta Maya, from where you can easily walk to the Marina in a few minutes.
From the Center, you are 15 minutes away from the Marina by car or scooter/moto.
If you prefer to walk, it is a bit less than 7km from the center, about 1 hour and 30. Make sure you drink water on your way, the Caribbean Sun can be a bit harsh sometimes.
Check out tehse maps for more details:
There is a scooter/moto and car park inside the Marina. It is free of charge and you can safely leave your vehicle while diving with us. Make sure to hide any valuable belongings in your car from sight. There is security on the grounds, but safer is better than sorry when it comes to your posessions.
How many divers will I be diving with?
Our divers/guide group ratio never exceed 4:1
This means you will be diving in a small group of 4 divers maximum per 1 DiveMaster.
However, if your group has 5 or more divers, that is absolutely no problem for us.
We will make sure to provide you with a second DiveMaster to join your group for safety and fun. We focus on a high quality service, so our DiveMasters can arrange for the best fit regarding your skills and comfort level.
What should I bring with me on the boat?
It is the Caribbean Sea you are about to ride on with us, and the sun can be strong.
We want to bring your attention on the prohibition of the use of any kind of sunscreen in the Cozumel National Marine Park.
The boat has a canopy, but we strongly recommend you bring sunglasses, a long sleeve shirt/lycra/rash guard to protect you from the sun, and a hat (preferably leashed because of the wind). You might also want to bring some extra clothes to change into after the trip, as there is fresh water shower at the Marina to rinse off the saltwater.
Although there is a dry place on the boat to protect your belongings from splashes or rain, we recommend you bring a dry bag to protect your phone or other sensitive items you may have with with you. Please understand that we are not responsible for the protection of your things — we are on a boat, surrounded by sea water, and it will splash everywhere.
Don’t worry though, you will have fresh drinking water at your convenience on the boat! Fresh fruits and other refreshments will also be available.
Please don’t bring single use plastics on the boat — help us save the seas we so love!
Can I dive with Nitrox?
Yes, let’s do this!
Changing the dive profile allows us to enjoy the beautiful reefs of Cozumel a little longer.
If certified, you can select your Nitrox blends from 32% and 36% (extra cost apply).
If not certified, or you want to extend your knowledge further, ask us for the Nitrox Diver, the Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Theory Certification training courses we offer.
We do organize good drift Deco’Dive at some of the most beautiful coral formation in the region, once again, only if you are certified for this!
Ask us for other blends, too.
What can we expect to see underwater?
Cozumel is the northern part of the Belize Coral Barrier Reef system. Therefore, you can expect to dive in a similar marine life as what you would find there.
Cozumel is an island with drop-offs all along its coast. Most of the dive sites are multilevel, offering a range of options for divers of any skill or experience level.
Depending on the season, you will be able to dive with turtles, sharks, rays, groupers, giant eels, lobsters, crabs, flounders, seahorses, shellfishes, angel fishes, barracudas, the famous Cozumel Splendid Toad Fish, etc…
You can check out our Cozumel Photo Gallery to get an idea of what you might see diving with Blue Mystic.

Can non-divers join me on the boat while I am diving ?
Blue Mystic Divers is a family-friendly operation and we want to you to be able to share any of your adventures with us with your loved ones. We assume you feel the same, and if there is extra space on the boat, your loved ones can join us.
We also have snorkel gear available for rent if they want to jump and watch your bubbles from above.
Can you arrange night dives ?
Yes we can!
We need a minimum of 4 divers to plan a night dive trip. If your group is less than 4 people, we can try to arrange a night dive with our partners here on the island, so divers from other dive operations will share the boat with us.
